The April PEI Devs Meetup will have two chats, both related to data:
Pierre Bassaler on General Data Protection Regulation
In May 2018, the European Union will apply the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to strengthen residents’ rights regarding their data and increase accountability for all stakeholders, whether or not they are established in the EU.
Regarding Pierre’s experience as a consultant in France, he will provide context, a short process to determine if an IT company is affected, and tools to tackle the issue: documentation and GitHub repo of free software.
Elections PEI on Introduction, New Website, & Data Sets
An introduction to Elections PEI, along with details about a new website launch. Also, a look at online reports and a discussion about Open Data. Within the usual bounds of privacy, which data sets would you like to see published as Open Data? What are your interests and priorities?
(Editor’s note: Reflect on your data interests before the meeting! See this link for some brainstorm ideas: )
