Should I Start A Business? Panel & Information Session

July 17 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Should I Start a Business?

You live on PEI – you’re bound to know someone who has started a business here.

You’ve thought about the idea of being a small business owner and entrepreneur and it’s sparked your interest.

Maybe you’ve had a great idea in the back of your mind for a little while or maybe you are actively working on one.

One thing is for sure – you’ve been thinking about how great it would be to become your own boss and to work on something that is uniquely yours. The very thought of this feels exciting but at the same time, it can feel big and intimidating. Building your idea would be a big decision, after all!

Want to learn about what’s involved in becoming a small business owner or an entrepreneur?

To kick off this event, we will walk you through what it takes and what you can expect if you want to get things started. We will briefly cover the following topics in this info session and answer questions around:

  • What are the first steps I need to take?
  • Basic overview of funding options.
  • Do I actually have the time and resources needed?
  • How big should I go?
  • What does success look like for me?

Next, in “The Reality Check” panel, you will hear from local entrepreneurs about the downsides they faced starting their businesses.

Meet our panelists:

Sean Aylward, co-founder of The Humble Barber
Julain Molnar, founder of Fresh Start Fauxmage
Tracey Gairns-Brioux, founder of Reset:Breathe Fitness
Randy Campbell, founder of ShopLaw
And our moderator is Craig Lambe, Treasurer of the Startup Zone board and Advisor at Lambe Financial.

Come and learn more from experienced entrepreneurs and small business owners!

Light refreshments will be provided.
