Our special guest on May 31st is Justin Moores, CEO of Synapse!
Justin has been Chief Executive Officer of Synapse, UPEI’s commercialization office, since January 2017.
Referring to himself as a “recovering geneticist”, he pursued doctoral studies in that field before pivoting to a new career in technology transfer and business development.
Prior to Synapse, he managed strategic accounts and directed tech transfer and business development activities with private industry, academia, government and scientific communities at Mitacs in Ottawa.
Justin’s understanding of innovation funding at national and international levels, as well as his experience developing productive relationships spanning multidisciplinary fields, enables him to lead the Synapse team in their mission to move ideas forward faster on and off the UPEI campus.
